St. John's Hospital, Springfield Illinois is the flagship hospital of the Hospital Sisters Health System, a Health care ministry with 13 hospitalsand a multi-specialy medical group in Illinois and Wisconsin.
St. John's Hospital is committed to providing high quality and cost efficient care. In 2008, the "Leapfrog" Group recognized St. John's as one of only a dozen hospitals in the nation to earn the "Highest Value Hospital" designation.
Prairie Heart Insitute at St. John's Hospital is a national leader in cardiovascular care. In 2008, a report from the Centers for Medicare/ Medicaid services showed PHI had the best survival rate for heart attack pts in Illinois and tied for 12th best survival in the US.
St. John's Children's Hospital is accredited by the National Assoc of Children's Hospitals and Related Institutions and is the region's only Pediatric Critical Care Caner. The Children's Hospital is home to the area's only Level III NICU and Pedi ICU and has dedicated air and ground transportation support.
St. John's is designated Level I Trauma center, has it's own BSN program and serves as a teaching hospital for the Souther Illinois University School of Medicine. St. John's is also home to the Cancer Institute, Regional Wound Care Center, Athleticare Sports Medicine, Sleep Center and Center for Living.
